Some Time

Hook
Sometimes, promise to do better this time?
mind if if i take up some of your time?
but could you spare a bit of your time?
well would you all look at the time

Verse 1

a working class man, 5 day schedule,
2 days on call, so coffee he has several,
pushing bout 80 hours, his body is beat,
in this case, salary finds a way to prey on the weak,
his kids are roaming the streets,
They all have money to eat,
mental appetites starve, but still hear bon appetite, personality weak, moms patience is weak,
full pockets they all walk past the bums that lay on the street,
knowing that spare change, wont change the way we see us,
maybe crazy or lazy or they just dont see us,
they say that theylll never be us,
as if we wanted to be us,
if we could free us, would it feel ok to only free us?
and be that person giving spare change to what used to be us,
no matter which side, we should all know how to treat us, actions go a long way in due time, we do shine,
just when were not expecting us to shine sometimes,

Verse 2

late 20's, never really left high school,
uncool even in college was not the one too,
speak out or even at all was first to run through,
the hallways when getting made fun of,
now lifes the one whose,
pointing fingers getting its kicks,
stones followed by the sticks,
each day hoping some blows might miss,
from the boss that used to be a jock, still as pissed,
as the time he didnt make it on the varsity list,
as pissed, as family members whose judgment persists, negative reinforcement theyd gladly insist,
controlled or uncontrolled substances were a hit or miss, side effects that reap the glory stealing all of the bliss,
or sharing all of the hits,
through gossip or through the grape vine,
guilty of the making things worse for just a little shine, Masochist and an addict, forced gradually throughout time, doesnt mean its not whats always on ones mind,

Verse 3

A lower class man born into racism,
Hes way different product of a different statism,
He thinks givin in to thanksgivin creates schism,
And criticism breeding hate unless its tourism,
His family tryna get to his kids,
He cant just change where he lives,
He hates hearing that "it is what it is"
He knows its true but also knows it could be coffins or shivs,
Do you leap? Or just continue with the family biz,
So whose wrong, the insider born into the fight,
Whose wrong, the outsider whose certain hes right,
Whose wrong, both sides are fighting changes in life,
We're all wrong!
we label everything whats black and whats white,
Its always wrong vs right, we fear first then we fight,
Im only human is enough for me to not be polite,
We all point but we all cant walk in a straight line,
We save time, leavin it for those who can make time,
